Two days orientation course in cyber crime and cyber forensics for senior police officers of Nagaland was organised and conducted by RIELIT, Kohima on 12th and 13th October 2011 at PHQ, Conference Hall Kohima. The course was conducted for all Superintendents of District Police and Unit Commandants in the state as a structured mandatory course. The resource person for the orientation course was Er. L. Lanuwabang, Deputy Director/ Scientist ‘C’ RIELIT, Kohima who was accompanied by his associates Er. Morimenba Amer, Asst. Director/Scientist ‘B’, Mr. Moasunep Jamir (JE), Mr. Darmoni Laishram ( Project associates) and Mr. Wapang (Lab Asst. H/W). Wide ranging aspects of cyber crimes and cyber forensics fundamentals such as ,”Data Acquisition, protecting and documenting the crime site, task of first responder, Sterilizing the Media, Acquiring Forensic Image with Software and Hardware, Data Analysis including File Signature Analysis, Performing Searches, recovering Deleted Data etc. were covered during the orientation.

The inaugural function of RIELIT Kohima was held on 16th September 2011 at the RIELIT Auditorium Hall with Shri Sachin Pilot, Hon’ble Minister of State, MC&IT, Govt. of India as the Chief Guest.
